One of the most fun parts of my job as a blogger is getting invited to events like the HGTV Smart Home I’m sharing today. I came across their blogger list years ago and have had the honor of visiting many of the Dream Homes, Smart Homes and Urban Oasis Homes they have built over the years. This year’s HGTV Smart Home is actually in my hometown of Marietta, GA. They took a typical 1970s modern house in a tired neighborhood and renovated it from the inside out. It doesn’t look like its neighbors anymore!
When I saw the address, I immediately thought that they must have built a new house in the old neighborhood, because I know this neighborhood well. I grew up about 4 miles from here and went to high school at Sprayberry High School, so this is my stomping ground, as they say. I missed the big blogger day when I was in Italy last week, but luckily I had another day before I left, which was an invitation to dinner and a tour of the house. But I said yes! Come with me and I’ll show you this modern remodeled HGTV Smart Home 2024.
Driving up to the house, it was immediately clear that it was him. The renovation is very modern, but I find it attractive compared to its neighboring counterparts. I was fascinated with these contemporary homes growing up in the 70s, but quickly got over it and embraced traditional style homes. It is very well done and comes from a steel roof US SteelLooks amazing and I’m sure will last forever.
