1 Excessive consumption of sugary foods

Sugar, whether it’s processed white sugar commonly found in homes or other items like soda, packaged juice, honey, is rich in processed carbohydrates. These carbohydrates are quickly absorbed into your bloodstream, causing sugar levels to rise. After this, increased insulin levels cause excess sugar to accumulate in the cells, leading to the development of acne.

2 Milk and milk products

A study has shown that consuming low-fat skimmed milk can also increase the chances of acne breakouts. There is no direct link between milk and acne, but many people who are lactose intolerant may experience acne problems after drinking milk. If you have acne problem after drinking milk, you are advised to avoid dairy products.

3 Excessive consumption of fast food

4 Consumption of refined grains

Refined grains such as flour, commonly found in bread, pasta and noodles, have a high glycemic index, causing blood sugar levels to rise. Increased insulin levels increase the activity of androgen hormones, which accelerates cell growth and sebum production, and this increases acne breakouts.

5 Rubbing your face too hard

In an effort to achieve clear skin and remove dirt from pores, you may need to scrub vigorously, use brushes or textured towels. But these work to damage the top layer of the skin. It irritates your skin and increases acne problem.

6 Squeezing blackheads or pimples
