First find out what are the factors that lead to weight gain in the workplace (workplace weight gain).
1. Irregular working hours
Because of working late mornings and evenings, your eating times are often irregular. When you don’t have enough time for yourself, you start skipping your regular physical activities and head to your bed as soon as you finish work due to extreme fatigue. This can cause an imbalance in the body’s hormones, making you feel hungry more often. In such a situation, you may consume more calories, which increases the risk of gaining weight.
2. Stress eating
It’s normal to feel pressure in the office, but some people know how to handle it, while others find it more dominant. Your current lifestyle makes you very sensitive to stressful situations. Apart from this, you can do stress eating. Increased production of cortisol in your body can make you feel hungry at unnecessary times. During this time, cravings for unhealthy foods also increase, and we take unhealthy snacks to manage them. If you can’t handle office stress, you might gain weight.
3. Drink less water
Lack of water is the main cause of weight gain in the workplace. Often you forget to drink water during work hours due to your busy schedule. At the same time, people often have coffee and tea in the office. Drinking less water and drinking more caffeinated beverages can cause insomnia and negatively affect your weight and energy levels.

4. Eating unhealthy snacks
It is important to think twice before eating something, be it at home or in the office, but many times we eat unhealthy snacks without thinking in the office. You may eat healthy and home-cooked food at lunch, but by 4 pm you will be physically and mentally exhausted. Because of this fatigue, you gravitate towards foods like sandwiches and street food. In such a situation, carrying home-made breakfast and fruits is the best option.
